If you update the content of a story (headline, article text, image, etc.), here’s how to push that update to SmartNews:
- Confirm that the relevant sections of the relevant item (
<entry>if using Atom) in your SmartFormat feed are updated. Do not update the URL, as this will be interpreted as a new article. - Update the
<pubDate>(<updated>if using Atom) value of the article you wish to update. Once SmartNews reads this feed item, the newer<pubDate>will trigger the update.
It may take several minutes for the change to be reflected, depending on when the feed is refreshed. This is based on the TTL ("time to live") specified in the SmartFormat feed.
